Day Three of racing.. and Pete is now a Movie star...

                                       Ya hoo Media star

Today was an exciting milestone for team Reason To Live.!

The blog had attracted the interest of the media crew here at The RNSYS, and the story of why we are all here in Halifax came to be told on CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Commission ) this evening on the news.

So this morning ... Pete was being followed everywhere .......

...by a large camera , and CBC reporter, Colleen Jones,
a famous Nova Scotia Olympian herself in the sport of Curling!

                                          pretty cool....

and we all saw it on the 6 o'clock news this evening ...

We will bring a copy home for you all to see ....or load it onto the blog when I receive the video ...

and as you can see from the glassy seas..

Racing was not looking really exciting ....however I was fortunate to be
able to hop aboard a beautiful 44.7 ' Beneteau

with skipper Richard,

a few crew, and a

....band of keen racing fans,

as we headed out to watch the afternoons racing ...

on the 2.4 metre yachts course,

light and fickle winds would rule the waves..

after a postponement, ...a general recall, a black flag, ...
we finally got off to a racing start

But no! Shifting winds caused another re start...a buoy on the move,

I was starting to look for new subjects...

                                                 even seagulls... brown ones!

finally away we go again... now 50 minutes late..

                                          looking good ....nice line up..

a lone sailor , following the "do something different rule"

wind shift.....
.. race abandoned just as the leaders reached the final downwind leg to the finish....ho hum....

at the time , Norway was leading with the Aussie on his tail...

but I hear , our Aus 36, won the next and only race of the day ..

I think we might as well

                                                   ..   go cruising!

As for the Skuds...
Same story.. no wind, wind shifts, one race, second abandoned,

Pete and Rachael have improved to 12th position, Great Britain have taken the lead from Italy , and The Australian team of Dan Fitzgibbon and Liesl Tesch are still in third position.
